DPF Cleaning

SPECIALIST IN DPF CLEANING, DPF REGENERATION, DPF REMOVAL & EGR CLEANING

Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) & EGR Solutions

We offer many solutions for AdBlue, DPF & EGR problems, including:-

DPF CLEANING
We have one of the country’s most advanced filter cleaning machines. We can successfully clean all types of Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF’s). It will efficiently remove the PM-10 (Soot & Ash) from the filter restoring the DPF back to 98% original and we guarantee this for 1 year

DPF REGENERATION
If your driving mode does not allow the vehicle to automatically regenerate the DPF, we have various diagnostics tools available to test and force DPF Regeneration or we can simulate a drive cycle, using our rolling road, allowing the vehicle to do this automatically. A common misunderstanding is that regeneration is an automatic process, however, very often the same issue returns after a few days or weeks.

DPF REMOVAL
We can remove the insides of a DPF and remap the relative engine management codes out. This provides better flow rate and will permanently prevent any further DPF issues. *THERE MAY BE LEGAL IMPLICATIONS.

EGR CLEANING
We can Carbon Clean engines which is the most effective and economical way to clean EGR valves

EGR REMOVAL/BLANKING OFF
Blank off EGR’s and remap the relative engine management codes out, or electronically close them off. *THERE MAY BE LEGAL IMPLICATIONS.

Any solution involving mapping out engine codes can also offer economy and/or performance improvements.

*Please be aware that we offer EGR & DPF solutions for Off-Road Usage only. Although it is not illegal to remove the EGR and/or DPF from your vehicle, it is an offence under the Road vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations (Regulation 61a(3))1 to use a vehicle which has been modified in such a way that it no longer complies with the air pollutant emissions standards it was designed to meet. Removal of the EGR and/or DPF will almost invariably contravene these requirements.

DPF Cleaning FAQs

Here is some of our most Frequently asked Questions about DPF Cleaning

What is a DPF?

A Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is a exhaust Filter fitted to all diesel vehicles from 2007 and is designed to capture soot particles from the engine.

What does a DPF do?

It traps/stores soot particles produced during diesel combustion and periodically, therefore helping reduce air pollution.

What is DPF regeneration?

When all the criteria are met, a Regeneration should occur by burning off the accumulated soot in the filter, this process called regeneration. There are three main types:

-Passive regeneration – Occurs naturally during drives with vehicle up to temperature.

-Active regeneration – Triggered automatically by the vehicle when the soot level is getting high

-Forced regeneration – Carried out using diagnostic tools.

How do I know if my DPF is blocked?

Common signs include:

-Warning light on the dashboard, not 100% trustworthy

-Reduced engine performance (limp mode)

-Increased fuel consumption

-Excessive exhaust smoke

What causes my DPF to Block?

-Frequent short trips.

-Stop-start driving

-Any Faulty sensors, Injectors, or boost issues

– Time and/or miles covered

-Using the wrong type of engine oil

Can I drive with my DPF warning light on?

You can usually drive short-term, but it’s important to act quickly. Ignoring it can lead to a fully blocked DPF, which may cause costly damage to the turbo and other engine components costing a lot more money.

What happens if my DPF becomes completely blocked?

The vehicle may enter limp mode or fail to start. At this stage, PowerX Professional cleaning, Deleting or even replacement may be required.

What is a DPF cleaning service?

A PowerX professional DPF cleaning service removes the soot and ash build-up using expensive, specialist equipment, restoring the filter’s performance to near new condition without replacing it. Saving the costly price of a new DPF.

What is the difference between a PowerX clean and an “on vehicle cleaning”?

-On vehicle DPF cleaning is  when a fluid is injected into the exhaust system and then the vehicle is forced to carry out a regeneration, this cannot restore the DPF to a near new state and cannot remove all the traps particles, as they consist of Soot, which when burnt leaves Ash, and also carbon. The Ash and Carbon particles are generally to large to exit through the filter and can only be removed the same way they entered, so should be cleaned the opposite way.

-If a DPF is Cleaned in our machine, it is cleaned both ways to ensure the DPF is thoroughly cleaned and all these particles are removed. It is also tested before and after to be completely sure it has cleaned to our high standard.
